Expanded perspective

No matter how good or bad your days are in this phase of your life, there is a lot you can be thankful for. Most of us live in this bird’s eye view of our realities, only focusing on the bigger picture. If you zoom in a little bit into your life, there is a lot to be grateful for. These moments of gratefulness are not just some big moments that happen in your life, but they also include little ones as someone giving you a reason to smile on a bad day. If life seems tough and sad, it is just because you are not zooming in to capture these small moments of happiness. Life might seem to be harsh and sad at times, but you will always have something more than the next person and that is a good enough reason to be grateful and keep moving on.

Our brain has the habit of focusing on the negatives more than the positives. While there is nothing much we can do about it, but we can be intentional. Just when a negative thought pops into your head, try to question it and move it in a positive direction. You might not be successful in moving a negative thought in a positive direction every time, but whenever you are, you will see a better perspective. This perspective of positivity is what can help you lead a more positive and grateful life.

It is always good to start afresh, with a different or detailed perspective. Being grateful helps us focus on our strengths and what we have. We might be striving too hard to achieve something with traits which are not our strengths. Being grateful helps you identify this situation and figure out a solution which is better tailored to your strengths. By doing this you will not only be able to achieve the goal, but you will also find it fulfilling and satisfying.
